The third quarter of 2021 saw a mix of performance trends for the top beauty retail apps on the Android platform in the United States. Here’s a closer look at how these apps fared in terms of weekly downloads, active users, and, where applicable, revenue.

My Bath & Body Works experienced a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 10.6K in late June and peaking at approximately 15.1K by the end of September. Weekly active users also showed a positive trend, growing from 98K to 115K over the same period.

Ulta Beauty: Makeup & Skincare had fluctuations in weekly downloads, with a notable peak of 13.5K in mid-July, before settling at around 6.5K by the end of September. Active users saw a slight decline overall, from 145K in late June to 138K by the end of the quarter.

Sephora: Buy Makeup & Skincare showed a steady increase in weekly downloads, beginning at 4.7K in late June and reaching 9.2K by the end of September. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating slightly around the 120K mark throughout the quarter.

SALLY BEAUTY maintained a modest download rate, with weekly numbers hovering around 3K to 3.9K, peaking slightly at 3.9K in mid-July. The app's active users experienced minor fluctuations, ending the quarter with roughly 6.7K users.

Think Dirty had a significant peak in downloads in early July at 13.4K, followed by a decline to around 1.1K by the end of September. Revenue peaked at $250 in early July and then fluctuated around $140-$200 for the remainder of the quarter. Active users saw a sharp increase in early July to 16.8K but declined to 3.7K by the end of September.
